30 minutes on Zoom with the senior partner you'll work with. Bring three stories you want to tell. We bring a candid read on whether we can land them.
We read everything you've published, the last 12 months of your inbox replies, and your three competitors' coverage. Delivered as a 10-page memo.
One page. Three threads. A pitch-tree with named reporters and target outlets, plus a content calendar for owned channels. Signed off in week two.
Day-to-day pitching, follow-up, and reporting. Weekly Slack standup, monthly press report, and a quarterly retro on what's working and what to drop.
Almost never. PR is a slow-build craft and a six-month engagement does not give us enough surface area to land the longer features that justify the cost. We will however build in a 30-day "out clause" if either side feels the relationship isn't clicking by day 90.
Monthly by ACH on the first business day of the month. We will invoice quarterly with a 5% discount if you ask. We do not take credit cards above $5,000 in a single transaction.
Yes — once per 12-month term, for up to 30 days. This is most often used by clients with a baby on the way or a major personal event. We resume seamlessly without a re-onboarding fee.
The retainer transfers automatically with right of first refusal for the acquirer. If they decline within 30 days of close, the contract terminates with no further fees. Several of our retainers have survived two acquisitions.
Industry-wide non-competes, no. Beat-specific non-competes (e.g. "no other DTC mattress brand for 12 months"), yes — and we recommend them. Our retainer template includes a default 12-month direct-competitor exclusion.
Yes — up to four people per retainer at no extra cost. Beyond four, we charge a $400/month coordination fee per additional seat. Most clients keep us in a small "war-room" channel and a wider read-only one.
