Five formats, all six-students-max, every one of them taught by an ISA-certified instructor who's surfed this beach since they were a kid. Pick the one that fits.
The classic. Twenty minutes on the sand learning paddle technique and pop-up timing, then sixty minutes in shoulder-deep water with one instructor for every three students. Everyone catches a wave by minute thirty.
Three 90-minute lessons spread across a single week. Lesson one: pop up confidently. Lesson two: angle take-offs and trimming. Lesson three: soft turns and reading the lineup. Most students leave the third session paddling out on their own.
Five lessons, two-week window, your scheduling. The fastest way from "first wave" to "I can paddle out on my own and trim down the line." Includes a free GoPro session on lesson five so you can see what you're doing.
One coach, one student, two hours. For first-timers who want extra hand-holding, parents learning alongside their kids, intermediate surfers working on a specific issue, or anyone who'd rather not share. Schedule any tide window.
Soft-top 9'0" or 8'0" depending on your size and skill. Pre-rinsed and waxed.
Spring through fall: 3/2mm full suit. Summer: shorty. All sizes XS-XXL on the rack.
Free zinc and SPF 50 at the shack. Apply 30 minutes before you paddle out.
Your coach takes one good action photo from shore. Texted to you that night.
We do bachelor / bachelorette parties, corporate offsites, school groups, family reunions, and "we have nine cousins in town" weeks. Discount kicks in at 6 students.
For groups over 12 we'll close the cove for two hours and bring extra coaches.
Inquire about a group →Almost everyone does, on the intro lesson, within the first 45 minutes. Our coach-to-student ratio is 1:3 and we use soft-tops that are extremely forgiving. The trick is patience and the right wave — we pick those for you.
You need to be comfortable in shoulder-deep water and able to swim about 50 yards. We do everything in waist-to-shoulder-deep water with leashes. If you're a non-swimmer or anxious in water, ask about our shallow-water clinic instead.
A swimsuit you can move in, a towel, a refillable water bottle, and (after the lesson) something dry to change into. Skip lotion sunscreen — we'll give you reef-safe zinc at the shack.
Free reschedule with 24 hours notice. Less than 24 hours, we charge 50%. If we cancel because the surf is unsurfable (rare — usually happens 3-4 days a season) you get a full refund or reschedule.
For the regular lessons: 8 and up. For the kids camp specifically: 7 and up. For private lessons we'll go down to 6 with a parent in the water alongside.
