We try to make this part the easiest part. Here's what we charge, what insurance does, what sliding-scale looks like, and what happens when life happens.
If you're paying without insurance.
What you typically owe after insurance pays.
If yours isn't here, we likely still work with you out-of-network — most PPO plans reimburse 50–80%.
One important note about couples therapy and insurance: insurance technically covers individual mental-health diagnoses, not relationship distress. We're transparent about how this gets coded and what it means for your record. We'll walk you through the trade-offs on the consult call.
We hold a small number of sliding-scale spots at any given time. They're allocated based on household income relative to area median, and we don't ask for documentation beyond an honor-system disclosure.
Five spots open up roughly every two months. If they're full when you call, we keep a waitlist and reach out when the next slot frees up.

We ask for 24 hours notice. Same-day cancellations and no-shows are billed at the full session rate. Insurance won't cover this — it's owed to the clinician. Life happens; we're flexible the first time.
Standard couples sessions are 50 minutes. Most clinicians recommend 80-minute sessions for the first month and for affair-recovery work. Family sessions are always 80 minutes.
Weekly is standard for the first 8–12 weeks. After that, most couples drop to biweekly, then to monthly tune-ups. Family work is often biweekly from the start.
Yes. All five clinicians work telehealth across NY and NJ. In-office is available with Maya, Dani, Theo, and Lina at our Brooklyn location.
The relationship is the client. We don't keep individual secrets between partners that affect the work — we'll tell you upfront if something needs to be brought into the room. We do hold secrecy carefully around third parties not in the room.
For self-pay clients we provide a good-faith estimate at intake, as required by federal law. If your bill ends up >$400 over the estimate, you have the right to dispute it.
The consult call covers all of this. We do the insurance check; you decide if it's a fit.
