In-person workshops in Edinburgh's Leith studio and online sessions over Zoom. All workshops capped between 6 and 12 students; the ratio is what makes them work. Materials kits posted in advance for online students.
A one-day intensive on building a 4-tile repeat from scratch — sketches, digitising, and printer-spec colour separation.
Three Wednesday evenings on Zoom — concepting, thumbnail roughs, and developing a final spot from a real-world brief.
Two days of botanical drawing from real-life pressings. Each student leaves with three completed studies on cold-press paper.
A four-week online course on the underdrawing-up of a 32-page picture book, from synopsis to dummy. Final-week portfolio review with the studio.
A one-day workshop on the studio's two-colour risograph press. Each student designs, separates, and prints a 12-page zine to take home.
Two-week online course on building Procreate brushes that mimic gouache and watercolour, with a structured layered-file system for picture-book interiors.
From four hand-painted motifs to a finished tileable repeat. Includes a printer-spec colour-separation pass at the end of the day.
Three weeks. Each session is a real-world editorial brief from the studio archive — thumbnail rounds, peer crit, finished spot.
Four weeks, eight students. By the final session every student has a 32-page rough dummy and a portfolio review with the studio.
Pay 50% on booking to hold the seat. Final 50% billed two weeks before the class. Seats are limited (6 in studio / 8–12 online) and they go fast — book early.
For online classes, the studio posts a paper-and-paint kit ten days before the first session. In-studio classes have everything provided on the bench when you arrive.
Every class ends with a short show-and-share. You'll leave with finished work, recordings (online), or a riso-printed zine (in-studio), plus a one-page recap of the techniques.

"Online but didn't feel like it. Eight students, lots of time per person, and the brush pack alone was worth the fee."— Imogen V. · Procreate for picture-book artists, Feb '25
"Booked the storyboarding course on a whim and walked out with a picture-book dummy that's gone on to be the project I'm currently pitching to publishers."— Ren K. · storyboarding, Aug '25
"I'd never touched a riso press before — by the end of the day I had ten finished copies of a 12-page zine to give to friends. Magical."— Polly J. · risograph zine, Sep '25
