— Issue No. 014 / Spring 2026 Residential Interior Design Studio · By Appointment

Rooms that hold the day, light that earns its place, and homes that don't apologise.

A single-name interior design studio working on whole-home and single-room residential projects in the city and out at the coast. We take six commissions a year — start to last switch plate.

A small studio, deeply involved

We design homes that look composed, not staged — built to live in for the next twenty years.

Your Business is a single-name residential interior design studio. Every commission is led from first walk-through to final styling by the same designer — no rotating juniors, no mood-board theatre, no swatch dump. The work is full-service, slow, and built to outlast trends.

We work primarily in pre-war townhouses, mid-century homes, and renovated coastal cabins. Whatever the bones, we begin in the same place: how do you actually live in this room — and what is it asking to become?

House philosophy

A taste for the quiet, the warm, the deliberately worn.

Our work tilts dark. We favour limewashed walls in heavy charcoal, oiled walnut, raw linen, and the kind of brass that earns a patina by year three. Light is treated as a material — sourced, measured, layered, dimmed.

  • Limewashed and tinted plaster — never paint chip approximations
  • Solid hardwoods over engineered, when budget allows
  • Natural fibres, low-VOC finishes, vintage-first sourcing
  • Lighting layered in three planes — never a single overhead
The designer

Lena Kovac — fourteen years of slow-built rooms.

I came to interiors after eight years at an architecture studio in Copenhagen, where I learned that a room is essentially a problem of light, weight, and proximity. I started Your Business in 2017 to take fewer projects, more deeply.

I lead every commission personally. You'll have my mobile number from the second meeting onward. We meet in your home — never in a showroom — and we spend the first three hours just listening.

Lena saw the house we were trying to build before we did. Eighteen months later we are still, room by room, surprised.
