For every ten pieces we sell off the bench, four are commissioned. Some clients arrive with a family heirloom they want re-set. Others arrive with a memory and a budget. Either way, the process is the same — eight weeks, four CAD revisions, and a wax try-on shipped to your door before any metal is cast.
Initial consultations are free, never rushed, and always with the bench head who'll set the piece. Quote in four business days.
A 45-minute call (in person or video) with our bench head. We'll talk about story, stones you've considered, budget, and timeline.
Week 1 · FreeWe source three to five candidate stones with provenance, and return a hand-sketched concept along with a fixed quote.
Weeks 2–3Three rounds of digital revision, then a 3D-printed wax model is shipped to your door so you can wear it before we cast.
Weeks 4–7The piece is cast, set, hand-finished, and signed off. We ship insured, with a letterpressed certificate of provenance.
Weeks 8–12Four business days for a written quote, including stone options, timeline, and a fixed price. There's no commitment — just a careful first conversation.
Yes — about a third of our commissions begin with a client-owned stone. Heirlooms, inherited diamonds, and stones bought at auction are all welcome. We'll inspect, regrade if needed, and design the setting around what you bring.
Fifty percent at sketch approval, balance due before final shipment. Affirm and Klarna are available for the balance, in three or six installments.
Always — by appointment, Tuesday through Saturday. Our address is 147 Industry Way, Suite 4B, Industry City, Brooklyn. Plan on an hour and bring whatever inspiration you've collected.
You get one full revision after the wax stage at no extra charge — common changes are shoulder width, gallery height, or claw count. Anything beyond that is billed at our hourly bench rate before we cast.
Yes. Most of our wedding-band commissions are for couples, and we tend to design the two pieces in conversation — even when only one has a stone.
