— our services —

Six things we do, well.

We don't try to be everything · we focus on the work most people in East Austin actually need. Below: lead time, real pricing ranges, what to expect on the day.

— routine care —

Cleaning & checkups

Every six months · with the same hygienist if possible. We use ultrasonic scalers, hand-finish, and screen for oral cancer at every visit. Your X-rays are kept on file for ten years.

What to expect

  1. Update health history

New meds, pregnancy, blood pressure, sensitivities · we pull up your file before you sit down.

  2. Imaging

Bitewing X-rays once a year · panoramic every three. Digital, low-radiation, instant.

  3. Hygiene visit

Ultrasonic clean, hand scaling, polish, fluoride. About 45 minutes start to finish.

  4. Doctor exam

Five-minute review with a dentist · oral cancer screening · written summary by email same day.

* New patient special. Existing patients · cleaning + exam runs $185 — $260 depending on your last visit and X-ray cycle. Most PPOs cover 100% twice yearly.

Common questions

Will it hurt if it's been five years?

The first cleaning may be a longer "deep" clean (called scaling and root planing) and we'll offer nitrous to make it comfortable. After that, normal cleanings feel like nothing.

Do you take my insurance?

We're in-network with Delta, MetLife, Cigna, Aetna, BCBS-TX, and UnitedHealthcare. We file claims on your behalf and you only pay your portion at checkout.

Can I bring my kid?

Yes · we see kids from age three. We share chairs with adults · the front desk can schedule family visits back-to-back.

Professional whitening

Two paths · in-office in 60 minutes (Philips Zoom) or take-home trays you wear ninety minutes a day for two weeks. Most patients see five to eight shades of change. We use desensitizing gel before and after.

What to expect

  1. Shade match

We photograph your starting shade so we have a real before — not a guess.

  2. Isolation

Cheek retractor, gum barrier · the bleaching gel only ever touches your enamel.

  3. Three 15-min cycles

Light-activated gel · we rinse, reapply, repeat three times. You can listen to a podcast.

  4. Take-home pen

You leave with a touch-up pen and instructions on what foods to avoid for 48 hours.

In-office$489
Take-home$329
Duration60 min
Sensitivity1 — 2 days

Touch-ups for life at $99 once you're a patient. Whitening is not insurance-eligible · CareCredit financing available.

Common questions

Will my teeth be sensitive after?

Most patients have mild sensitivity to cold for 24 — 48 hours. We send you home with a desensitizing gel and recommend skipping ice water for two days.

Does it work on veneers or crowns?

No · only natural enamel changes shade. If you have visible front crowns or veneers we'll discuss whether replacement makes sense after whitening.

How long does it last?

One to two years for most people, longer if you avoid coffee and red wine, shorter if you don't. Touch-ups are $99 once you're a patient.

— alignment —

Invisalign & clear aligners

3D scan · custom aligner trays · most cases finish in 6 — 12 months. We see you every six weeks for a 15-minute progress check. No metal, no goop, no broken brackets.

What to expect

  1. 3D scan + plan

iTero scanner produces a digital model · you see a preview of your finished smile before you commit.

  2. Trays arrive in 3 weeks

You'll wear each tray for 7 — 14 days, 22 hours a day. We send a calendar reminder.

  3. Six-week check-ins

15-minute appointments to confirm fit, check progress, and hand off the next set.

  4. Retainer for life

One year of retainers included · then $149/yr for replacements as needed.

Express$2,890
Full$5,490
Duration6 — 12 mo
Visits6 — 8

Express plans handle minor crowding (under 6 mm). Most insurance covers $1,500 — $2,500 of orthodontics. We finance the rest at 0% for 24 months.

Common questions

How is this different from at-home aligners?

We supervise in person every six weeks · catch issues like rotated teeth, root resorption, and bite collapse that at-home services miss. The clinical outcome is meaningfully better.

Will I have a lisp?

For about a week, yes, especially with the first tray. Most patients adjust within four to seven days. Your S sounds normalize fastest.

Can I drink coffee in them?

Cold water yes · everything else, no. You'll take them out for meals and drinks anyway · they stain easily.

Porcelain veneers

Layered, hand-finished porcelain · we work with one ceramist in Houston who hand-paints every veneer to match your face, not a celebrity's. We're locally known for the "no-prep look" — natural-looking, never overly white.

What to expect

  1. Smile design consult

Photos, scans, mockup. You see a 3D preview and a wax-up of the final result before we touch a tooth.

  2. Prep day

Minimal enamel reduction · temporaries that you wear for 2 — 3 weeks while the ceramist builds the final.

  3. Try-in & bond

Final veneers tried in unglued · you approve color, shape, length. Then we bond.

  4. Annual checks

Veneers last 12 — 18 years on average · we monitor edges and bite each visit.

Per tooth$1,890
6-tooth set$10,490
Duration3 visits
Lifespan12 — 18 yr

Most cosmetic veneer work is not insurance-covered. CareCredit and Sunbit offer 0% financing up to 24 months on the full case.

Common questions

Do you have to grind down my teeth?

We remove a thin layer of enamel — about the thickness of a fingernail — to make room for the porcelain. We do "minimal-prep" or "no-prep" veneers when the case allows.

How natural will they look?

That's our whole pitch. We take photos under five different light conditions and our ceramist hand-paints translucency, edges, and surface texture. We can show you ten cases.

What if one breaks?

Year 1 we replace any chipped veneer free. Years 2 — 5 it's $300 each. After that, replacement runs full price.

Dental implants

Single-tooth and full-arch implants placed by Dr. Olsen · IV sedation available. We use Straumann titanium · the gold standard, with a lifetime structural warranty.

What to expect

  1. 3D imaging

Cone-beam CT scan to plan the angle and depth · most cases planned in software before we drill.

  2. Placement appointment

90 minutes · IV or oral sedation if you want it. You leave with a temporary tooth.

  3. Heal 3 — 4 months

Bone integrates around the post · you eat normally with the temp.

  4. Final crown

Custom porcelain crown bonded · indistinguishable from a natural tooth.

Single$4,490
All-on-4$28k+
Total time4 — 6 mo
Recovery3 — 5 days

Most insurance covers $1,000 — $1,800 per single implant · we file the claim. CareCredit at 0% for the rest.

Common questions

Will I be without a tooth for months?

No · you leave the placement appointment with a temporary tooth that looks normal. The final ceramic crown is delivered in month four or five.

How painful is the recovery?

Most patients are back to a normal day in 48 hours and report soreness, not pain. We prescribe ibuprofen, no opioids needed in 95% of cases.

What's the success rate?

Above 97% in our practice · matches published Straumann data. The 3% that fail typically do so within the first six weeks and we replace at no charge.
