Five-year, federally matched plan would daylight Marlow Creek, separate eight miles of storm sewer, and plant 1,400 new street trees in the four neighborhoods that flood every spring.
RIVERBEND, OH — Today, Your Business, candidate for mayor and three-term Ward 4 city councilmember, released the most detailed policy paper of the campaign so far: a $120 million, five-year plan to end the chronic combined-sewer overflows that have flooded basements in the Lambert, Sycamore, Tow Path, and Eastview neighborhoods every spring for the past two decades.
"The county told us to wait. The state told us to wait. We've been waiting for twenty-three years," Fielding said at a press conference at Lambert Park. "Federal money is finally on the table. The next mayor will decide whether we use it."
The plan applies for the federal Clean Water State Revolving Fund 70% match within 90 days of inauguration, daylights the Marlow Creek between 18th and 24th streets in year one, and finishes eight miles of separated storm sewer along Lambert and Sycamore by year three.
