The Wisteria
A canopy bed under hand-papered wisteria, a clawfoot tub by the window, and a small private balcony overlooking the herb beds.
A small, family-run bed and breakfast on a half-acre of azalea, hollyhock and rambling rose. Five quiet rooms. A long breakfast table. No keycards, no front desk, no commission to a third party.
The big booking sites take fifteen to twenty percent of every reservation. We pass that back to you, in the form of a cheaper room, a glass of sparkling on arrival, and an innkeeper who actually answers the phone before noon.
Booking with us is the only way to request the loft, the late breakfast, or the dog bed. No third party can offer the things that make Azalea Cottage what it is.

No two rooms are alike. Three look out across the back garden, two onto the lane. All five have antique linens, a deep tub, and a view that keeps people booking the same room year after year.
A canopy bed under hand-papered wisteria, a clawfoot tub by the window, and a small private balcony overlooking the herb beds.
Eggs from the four hens out back. Bread from the bakery on Fenley Street, delivered still warm. Jam from this year's Damson plums. Coffee from a roaster in Charleston who blends a custom Azalea breakfast.
Three courses, one seating, nine o'clock — though we'll bring a tray to your room if you'd rather not.
Things we believe shouldn't be a la carte at a five-room cottage: a fire, a soak, a strong wifi signal, and someone who knows the village.
Lit nightly Oct–Apr. Decanters of port, sherry, and a strong tea trolley.
Three of the five rooms have deep porcelain tubs. House lavender bath salt provided.
Mapped & labeled. A guest can pick up to a small bouquet a stay.
One well-mannered dog per room. Bed, bowl & biscuits supplied. $25 cleaning.
"We came for one night and rebooked for three. The Wisteria is a small miracle and Margaret's eggs ought to be on a stamp."
"Booked direct, paid less than the booking sites listed it for, and got a glass of fizz in the garden at four. Why does anyone book any other way."
"Took the whole cottage for our anniversary weekend. All five rooms, the garden, and Margaret's blackberry hotcakes. The best money we have ever spent."
Single rooms direct from $195 a night. Private buy-out (all five rooms, the cook, the gardens) from $1,095 a night, with a two-night minimum. Gift cards in any denomination, instantly delivered.
"My husband and I have run the cottage since the year our second was born — that's eighteen seasons now. We answer the phone, we mind the eggs, and we keep the rooms ourselves. There is no front desk. Please come."
